I am about to enter 50 yrs as a Gashead, I was hoping the horrors of last season being relegated would vanish with a team re-built through the Summer but a few average signings the boost I needed has not happened. After seeing Sinclair 3 times so far I sure he is a decent bloke with a good attitude but he is a poor player and not what we require, Taylor was not wanted at FGR a light weight striker when we need a battering ram, the other new faces well they are not that impressive eitherOK the defence is alright but can take only so many batterings. The strength and pace needed from midfield and attack is non existent. But I would have put up with it and hope things got better.
But what broke my heart as a Gashead was last nights comments from DC when he said " We had a game plan that involved passing the ball,we did not do that" Holy Jesus you are pro footballers and coaches didn't you realise passing was part of the game ? it's what other sides do against us every week with players on a lot less money than we have been paying. Maybe next week introduce a new tactic called shooting at goal. I have never felt so down so early in a season.
Some how I need to get my football appetite back and want Saturday's to be a day when I go to Rover's and think we will win today and score a few goals Please Mr Higgs and Co you need to take urgent action now, as I for one cannot justify spending £18 plus not to be entertained.

I fully agree, I love this club and what is happening is none short of scandalous. I will back DC, it is still early days but one day I will reach my point of no return! Hope that day never comes!!

Fair shout Kevin....I've done 46 myself !, but will never catch you up !
You quote "Please Mr Higgs and Co you need to take urgent action"
Im really sorry to tell you this, but there is more chance of a "Goat from Greece" being elected for the next president of the United States...than there is of that clueless turds.. Higgs and his morons...Taking "Urgent Action"
Best wishes

First game 51 years ago. Think of it as a favourite family member reaching the end of their days, remember the good times and hope to god that someone has a cure for longevity.

The trouble with the seemingly insatiable media thirst for constant information from people within the game inevitably leads to managers coming out with meaningless platitudes like 'we want to pass the ball'. I wouldnt worry too much about what DCsays in such interviews.

My earliest memory (although I reckon I was going a little while earlier) is New Years Eve 1966 v Middlesborough and the infamous John O'Rourke/ Bernard Hall incident. So guess that's 48 years for me and I never thought it would ever come to this.

What Rex said.....there are some pretty (with respect)long-in-the-tooth folk here blindly believing and dissecting every word our manager says. I'm sure he cannot say what he would probably like to say (or even say nothing - but he'd be crucified by plenty on here for that!). So empty platitudes it is.

60 years for me I remember bert Hoyle in goal. Like you guys I can't stomach much more. We have constantly had some of the biggest attendances in each league but are always told we are skint how do the other clubs manage with gates of 1500 etc I have almost given up!!!!!!

51 for me And now I laugh at the excuses being made by some. Like, "dont listen to Clarke now, he really means something else which he cannot say"

What a pathetic thread - if you haven't got the stomach to keep supporting the team then don't.
Why you feel the need to tell people you have never met that you are upset and have never felt so bad defeats me, I suggest you phone the Samaritans.
We have got a set of players at the moment that play for the shirt but if that's not a start for some of you well just stop going if you still do.
It doesn't matter how long ago you started watching rovers if you are no longer a fan the number of years goes back to zero.

Laughing at fellow gasheads. At a time like this. Tut tut. No excuses from me for DC. Just trying to understand his position. 52.

Though not as pathetic as fellow Gasheads moaning about negative threads, as if Rovers were different from any other football club. Rovers' supporters are the most complacent of all football fans, a complacency that may result in our oblivion.

err......will throw this back at you pal.....what a pathetic post.
Typical arrogance of Rovers Fans....."unless you turn up and cheer your not a fan".......what a load of b*llox. In case you have not noticed there are a hell of a lot of FANS who are sick of the way the club is being run......sick of the board and sick of fans who continue to back them irrespective of what is going on at the club and the way we are in total freefall
Please continue to KTF and tell loyal fans were "zero"......see you in the Conference South pal.......

47 years old (and I never tell anybody that). Tonight though I am thinking blame the goalkeeper! Ah but better than no keeper at all. I really feel for DC, he is going to be crucified by our fans. The guy is trying to get the players in but no luck, it says how far we have fallen when players would rather sign for Dagenham and Redbridge! As good as the young lad is sorry but says it all when our 2nd goalkeeper (even if he is away on International duty) could still be a schoolboy! I try to be level headed but unless the board really do help DC very soon he will be the next casualty of our history. (sorry Mark I know I copied that bit from the reply I sent to you).
yesterday in the pub a friend and customer asked who would I be supporting in his teams match, my reply neither as I dislike them both. I took no pleasure in the fact OUFC won apart from buying him a drink.
