Yeah I don't think it'll be easy, but it feels like we can win games at this level with motivation, attitude, and tactical nous.

The only problem was the historical woman commentating, had to turn the volume down as her voice is so shrill. I thought she was ok the 1st time I heard her but maybe we never scored then. But working with "too be honest with you Brookman" is dire.

This joyless, tedious box-ticking has to end, and soon - I think people are really getting sick of it, and rightly so. Brookman bleeds blue and white, and this is the reason he is in the commentary box. Radio Bristol should approach Holloway and ask him if he is willing to do media work - would be a great option.

Oh, no! Did Keith Brookman say "to be honest with you". What an awful thing to say! The man should be hung, drawn and quartered.

some very tough games coming up, some against clubs who should be in the upper echelons of the division above. Just like Bolton. I don't think this squad need fear any team in this league and that's what Matt Taylor will be telling the players. Would we have won if Bolton had not gone down to 10 men? I'm going to suggest not, as they came back very strongly after the sending-off. We shouldn't have to compete with clubs like Charlton, Derby or even Reading. They are only in this division because of grotesque mismanagement and a structure that encourages clubs to gamble on the PL golden goose. In the long-run, we will eventually end up with a two-tier league, in which relegated 'top' clubs are almost guaranteed to bounce back the following season or the season after.

They live amongst us. It's embarrassing for me personally as I think most of the people expressing these neanderthal views are in my age group. I know education was not great post WW2, upto our coming of age, 1970 ISH.. but Jesus Christ.

I disagree with syg on this, and some of what he says in expressing his personal view, but it is indeed a personal view, and based on a matter of personal taste, so I can't see any point in reacting like that. We can disagree without outrage. Happily, we don't have a manager spouting this stuff any more; we have one talking positively about footballers at Rovers and trying to get them winning, and the likes of me to want to pay to watch Rovers.

There is no, absolutely none, excuse for ignorance. Particularly when said ignorance has a negative impact on the lives of others. Especially so when gender is the only point in question.

We always have one or two clubs who have fallen from grace in League 1 and that will never change. I remember the 70's with the likes of Aston Villa and even Reading were as crap as us and two decades ago Man City gracing The Mem. 2-0 has always been known as the most difficult lead to defend but to suggest we only won yesterday because Bolton had a player sent off is an insult to a great performance and a great win.

I detested Alan Green commentating and shrieking Sheralyn could be his prize pupil, I enjoyed Lee Mansell and Tony Craig on the commentary team recently but I dont mind Brookman.

Wolves and Sunderland,Sheff Weds and Derby,as you say theres always a few bigger clubs down there,I dont include Norwich because i dont see them as a big club in fact really Rovers should be competing with clubs that size, just that they over achieve and Rovers under achieve. Bolton played differently in the second half after that tactial substitution taking their top scorer off, many times 10 man teams seem to try harder,I think Rovers would have beaten them anyway.

I remember two Randall goals beating Derby in a much looked forward to clash at Eastville back in the eighties. yes things have changed. to compare and contrast with 70s 80s 90s, the best top tier clubs Liverpool, Man Utd, used to have players who had played against Rovers in what is now tier 3 - Webb at Man U, Saunders, Aldridge come to mind. So it isn’t just the flow down, but the flow up that is different these days. The premier league now dominates the world for income and spend, it’s turned it into a sort of cream of the world league - this cannot happen inside a bubble and isolation from the three EFL leagues below it. So the likes of Saunders and Aldridge are blocked from playing at the very top by the cream of the world, so they play at a lower level. Wages and costs are driven up - down the pyramid by existence of the world league at the top of it.

All seems to be working out nicely. JB has found his true calling as a rent-a-gobsh*te, and we have a serious manager in charge who seems to be the polar opposite. However, a word of warning, I think we will struggle to pick up points until February 3, the game against Exeter City FC - some very tough games coming up, some against clubs who should be in the upper echelons of the division above. 8 or 9 more wins for safety has to be the priority, and anything else is a bonus. Then why not put your virtual money where you're virtual mouth is and play next month's point accumulating game!? It's growing bigger than deal or no deal!

In fairness, Derby haven't bounced back and neither did Portsmouth amongst others. As for a two tier system, that's been talked about for years and still isn't here yet. There is a hierarchy in the Prem but that is light years away for us! The greater danger will be the introduction of B sides if they think the U21 experiment works in the egg cup!
