its weird on here its very positive v very negative with almost nothing in between,i think that darrell clarke has assembled a team that is improving and looking like a team that can challenge for promotion, early days of course but dc has stuck to his guns on recruitment and contracts etc and theres some light at last in this dark tunnel we have been stuck in

It's great to get am away win & 3 points. But I wasn't there to know if it was deserved (hopefully) or not. So hopefully DC can go on & prove the doubters wrong (I'm one of them) but I'm not a twat who is going to label him a great manager after a last minute winner (remember he had one of those in his first game & then promptly froze out the scorer let's hope he's learn't since then) which leaves us mid-table in the Conference.

I support the team, but expect better from the people running the club. Is that bad?

I can't understand why people can't praise anyone without putting in a negative spin about people not mentioned in the original post. Glass 1 fifth full maybe?

I'll be quite honest, when I saw that we were going 3-5-2 again but with Monkhouse up front, I thought "Oh my god Darrell, why do you tinker around so much with your tactics man" but it seemed to have worked out gracefully, Leadbitter had an awesome performance at RB (a position with I thought was going to be Lockyer's forever, thank Lord it's not) and the players were working really hard. We did shut off for a while and concede 2-2, but we have to understand that one was a penalty that Trotman could not have avoided and we are also not Real Madrid, our team is and will be prone to collective mental issues, which were not being worked around in the past but have been today. So, fair play to DC and the players. leadbitter was my MOTM against Grimsby but then dropped every game until today and then for me put in another MOTM display! I've been saying locker is not a RB and should be pushed in with leadbitter at RB and today I was proved right so hopefully he sticks with it Leadbitter was right wing back,he took him off and Lockyer went right back when he changed to 4-4-2,well thats what the commentary said on the radio

Anyway, notice how quiet it is on here tonight..?

Well done today, still a long way to go to win hearts and minds. Although I agree with the criticism of the way the board is run this thread is about the management footballwise. Today we got the job done, onto the next though. I'll only really start being positive when we're right up there. It's a start but needs to continue.

So you're basically saying we cannot be happy until we're battling for Champions League spots up there with Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea? Cheer the f*** up mate, we won an away game. You can get mad afterwards, but it wouldn't be any better if we lost or drew. We all know we're debt-ridden, poorly managed and whatnot but not giving a care about the club will hardly solve anything at all The problem is that as soon as we sneak another late goal and win a game the happy clappers all come out as if everything in the world is just fine and dandy. It's not. Some people's glasses are half full - they are referred to as happy clappers or rose tinters by the half empty brigade. When we win its cause to share our joy on the forums with like minded fans. We should not be castigated for doing so. When we lose its no fun reading the doom and gloom merchants preaching the end of the Gas World. Lets face it, we got a win today so we should enjoy the moment - 10 points from 5 games is encouraging after a shaky start. If we win our next two home games we could be around the play-off places. Thats cause for optimism - it doesnt mean we all think everything is fine and dandy but it suggest that we are gradually turning the corner on the pitch. Yours truly, A rose tinted happy clapper

Give the man and the team he is building time for ffs, some of you are so reactionary. Anyone that thinks his job, or this league, is a walk in the park is clearly, I'm sorry, a small brained idiot. If we are bottom come Christmas I'll join you in calling for his head.
One of the problems though is the fear that you all so often mock him for touching upon. It's not nice playing in front of a bunch of drunk w****rs whether your a professional player or not. Psychologically speaking we are all similar and when a player makes a mistake do you think he will respond better if someone in the crowd shouts 'Harrison you useless ***t!' or 'Come on Ellis, Head up!'. You'll hear me shout the latter.
Great win today, UP THE GAS!!

Have to say 14 points from 9 games is better than I was expecting, but then my expectations were in the gutter, I'd be very happy with 17 points from 10 matches in the circumstances.

I have said it before and will say it again. There are some really sad individuals who actually want the manager of the Rovers to fail, and they are not all City fans, just so they can say `i told you so`. Why would you want the manager of the team you so called `support` to fail? It is really puzzling.

It seems to me that the majority of negative posters in this thread didn't go to todays game and personally I hope you stay away.
The football in the first half was as good as any in the last 4 years and at half time we deserved to be 3 or 4 goals up,
Second half Lincoln played alot better and we had to defend well and as well as scoring the winner we also missed a penalty and more than deserved to win.
We scored 3 good goals and it was great to see Ellis score a corker and mixing with the fans at the end of half time.
DC put out the right team and made the changes at the right time but the best bit was after surviving the end to the game all the team and fans celebrated together with no moaners in sight.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but please Bamber and the rest of the wingers listen to it on the radio and type yourselves silly on the forums, but if you can't cheer the team on wait till you can before you see it live.
Oh and by the way the passing of Parkes and Lockyer today was exemplary.

After the last few years, I don't think you can blame people for being a bit negative.

I've read some fairly extreme and premature reactions, dispare, anger, but I've never read anybody say that they want the team or the manger to fail. Could you point out a post where somebody has said that?

Thanks for that uplifting post fellow gashead.heard the result only in work but to hear the evidence that we put in a noteworthy performance to gain a great 3 points means a whole lot more to me personally.Still a lot of work to do but a lot more positive in our play today by the sounds of it.Not too shabby for our clueless out of his depth manager I would say,who would have been slaughtered on here if his change of formation and a winning team had ended badly.Roll on Tuesday and keep the momentum going now boys and a massive well done to Darrel and the team today.
