Ian Atkins stats were: P68, W21, D26, L21 = 30.9 WR... Since his tenure, of the 10 permanent Managers with a better win rate were: Trollope 37.3, Clarke 42.3, Coughlan 44.6, JB 37.1 and now MT 33.3. Better WR of the 6 caretakers were: Campbell 33.3 from 12 games, Joe Dunne 100 from 1 game, Widdrington 66.6 from 3 games and Mangan 57.1 from 7 games. You should also add John Ward P69 W24 D21 L24 = 34.8%.

In fairness Nick I remember us at Chester losing 4-0 and the fans turning their back on the team, it was that bad. It wasn't all plain sailing under Atkins..... yes you’re right there were some bad times with him but I never felt he’d lost the plot quite as quickly as MT seems to have done. I must admit Nick, much as I want MT to succeed, at times there is a blank expression on his face after a game which is between, how do I motivate this lot, what have I let myself in for, and a rabbit in headlights. I sincerely hope it can be turned around. We don't need yet another manager for cannon fodder!

Indeed Texas I think it will be quite a low attendance with current form, bad weather, the availability to watch on ifollow and general lack of enthusiasm. And Arsenal vs Bayern Munich in a warm pub! I talked to an old and super fan mate who I had been going with, back to Eastville. His response to my question “ how are things with fans Neil” his reply was “ toxic af”. He is not one to be dramatic, unlike me. He has , for the first time, not bought an ST and is sick of how our fan base has changed. We both believe a certain wife beating man is to blame for this. me ? Right now, sorry if his upsets but FTG, just like I felt before taking 6 seasons off. Enough is too much as dad would say. I am very glad I have not been going as it used to have a wide ranging affect on me no a loss would make my weekend really quite bad. My own view is we are seeing the beginning of the end of the club, as we know it. Oddly enough I would go if we rose as a phoenix club. The animosity is palpable, the use of racist terms, appalling behaviour nd lack of respect for fellow gas is beyond my comprehension. Faithful and true we were, our happy band of dark humoured supporters. We were led down a path of false hope, led by a boy child who changed his mind more than a hooker does knickers. After my talk with Neil it just reinforced my reasons for not going and has also given me even more reason to believe we are on a downwards trajectory. What happened to the gallows humour, the looking after fellow gas, the joy ? I have been holding out in the hope my passion will return but, if anything, I have become totally indifferent and do not even look on either forum often. call me what you wish. I am 60, went to my first game at 4 going on 5, paid my own way from 13 onwards. Yes, enough IS too much. God bless those more tolerant than me, I did not pick Rovers to become a club like the 82, with all thy goes a,omg with that. Sorry again if this offends but I will not give a penny to this rotten mob of Shylock owners, who treat fans like a number. We few, we merry few, we band of brothers or so it was. I feel very sad in writing in this manner. Always jam tomorrow. I never chose the Rovers for glory 😂. I never chose the club for hatred and abuse either. Well done Wael and the new lot, you are strangling the lifeblood out of the club. If this were any other field of business then heads would roll. We need drastic change and some money, with a manager who can spend it wisely and show some passion…but that’s another topic. I will periodically be around as i do not make a big deal out of making drama nowadays. Look after yourselves and good luck, i have much better things to do, now soundtrack to the club, amused to death

Wouldn't be surprised if MT is fired tonight. I would, who would take on the poisoned chalice that is BRFC ? A club in free fall.

New manager time. This has been an utter balls up since firing B***** with no one penciled in. Lack of a transfer window or not he's simply hasn't got the players on his side. He was not first choice but abdulatif ballsed up…again

That's how I feel, and I include the dark conference and Graydon/Atkin days. Akin was a far far better manager than this guy he made us very hard to beat and whilst on gardening leave from Oxford, with Russell Osman on the ground we stayed up and out of the conference, the following season we lost 1 game at home all season, I know a lot were draws but still I think Atkin was better than a lot on here say it wasn’t great football but we were no mugs Absolutely Nick, good to see you posting. Long time mate

"After a game"?? I was standing not far from him on Tuesday evening, and he looked like that for the entire match.

Well the players can't complain they haven't been given a chance.
McCormick, Brown and Connolly started this game (and all off at half-time).
Wonder if Rossiter will get minutes, before the season draws to a close.

Not saying we deserved to win (far from it), but 2 good strikes, beat the goalkeeper, only to hit a defender on the line.
When your lucks out, it's well and truly out.

I appreciate the statos giving the Ian Atkins record compared to those who came after him, but as the draws showed I just didn’t feel the same resignation of defeat as I do now, we had a team of triers, and I went down a lot in those days and enjoyed more than a few battles, Yeovil comes to mind. I just feel meh about the gas atm, I’ve supported them since 1970 but never felt more apathetic towards us maybe it’s football in general? I don’t know, I’ve not watched England for several months, football is all about obscene money and a disconnect between players owners and supporters, look at our lot, the ministry for no information.

Yup, all this in bold. This plus the period of time under the scouse thug has done it for me. 'The football' is still out there though. Try grass roots (tier 7-9 my favourite levels) or the German leagues. Here the 50+1% rule means supporters have the voting rights and effectively control the Clubs. And I'm not knocking ST holders and people who turn up and are still 'faithful and true'. Fair play to them. I'm actually quite envious they still have something, which I have now lost.

If I remember correctly, it was pretty much only Lambert from that squad that Atkins never brought in? He could spot a player ( as he was a scout until recently from what I've been told at either Sunderland,Everton or stoke..I can't remember which. Still can't forgive him for that 2nd leg in the playoffs at northampton.3-1 in first leg and lost 3-0.I was 15/16 years old and I had the worst summer ever.
