Just saw a video of our goal by a Norwich fan who was close to the rovers fans. The number of rovers fans baiting the Norwich fans as soon as we scored and not even celebrating was sad and embarrassing.

The number of rovers fans baiting the Norwich fans as soon as we scored and not even celebrating was sad and embarrassing. I was sitting near the front, and close to the Norwich fans. I didn`t see any of that. Everybody around me was going mental. Agree, if true, that`s not supporting your team. Anyways, it was a very satisfactory day. Vastly different to the dispiriting Wycombe debacle. Today`s was a performance to be proud of.

Match Stats: Norwich 1 BRFC 1 - Possession: 62% - 32% - Shots: 11-10 - On Target: 4-5 - Corners: 6-4 - Referee: Lewis Smith - Attendance: 19,848 (1,333 away)
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9018379.ece/ALTERNATES/s1176b/0_GettyImages-1912177906.jpgLeague One side Bristol Rovers earned a deserved home third-round replay against Norwich City of the Championship, with a 1-1 draw in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Carrow Road. Although Matt Taylor's side's heroics were the story in East Anglia, the pressure on his opposite number David Wagner also must be considered as this was their fourth game without a win and another less than satisfactory performance for the supporters who made their feelings audible at full-time. After a tense opening, Ashley Barnes settled a few Norwich nerves when he tucked in after Onel Hernandez had tracked Adam Forshaw's ball forward, shrugged off Tristan Crama and laid it square. Yet, Rovers were level five minutes later when Grant Ward curled expertly with the edge of his right boot into the top left corner, after Harvey Vale's fierce drive was parried out and not sufficiently cleared. Matthew Cox had to be alert to deny City's Josh Sargent when he turned his near-post fizzer behind for a corner, while Jevani Brown was defied by Canaries goalkeeper Long and Luke Thomas' searing strike smacked the post and out for Rovers. Both sides struggled to create genuine goalscoring chances after the break, but there was always a threat from both teams. Norwich sent on regulars Adam Idah and Jonathan Rowe in a bid to swing the tie, and the former swiped over in stoppage time. In the end, the Gas more than held on - and almost won it themselves after a dangerous corner was palmed out by Long in the Norwich goal at the end, to secure a deserved spot in the draw and a possibly lucrative replay on home soil. They have not been in the fourth round since 2008, while their opponents had won three of the past four third-round ties, but not today. Having discovered some form in League One under mid-season appointment Taylor, Rovers did not look out of place at Carrow Road with a tidy, expansive style of football which made the best use of wide players Vale and Thomas. This was an wide open encounter which belied the 21-place gap between the teams, something not lost on Norwich fans who expected their side not only to be in the mix for promotion to the top flight - which has not yet materialised, but also to be capable of dispatching such opponents. Wagner named a strong enough side, with Josh Sargent and Ashley Barnes among the starters, but was forced to send on first-team regulars in pursuit of a winner. Norwich were hardly outplayed, but neither did they create the volume of chances expected, and the jeers at full-time were in keeping with recent dissatisfaction around sections of the support. Norwich boss David Wagner told BBC Radio Norfolk:"I'm frustrated, disappointed and angry. We were poor today and this is the truth. I expected much more from us, individuals and collectively as well. "We got the lead, but we were below par. We and I have had higher demands on the players than what they have shown today and this is why we have not won this game. "We have to be much more dominant, show more energy, enthusiasm and aggression and be more calm on the ball - there were so many unforced errors from individuals who normally should be fresh because they haven't been used so much in the busy period. "They haven't produced the performance they are capable of and which we expect from them." Bristol Rovers boss Matt Taylor told BBC Radio Bristol:"We can't always be greedy in football despite wanting to be, especially with the chances we created. "I'm so pleased with the performance and with what the team and the club stood for today, in terms of effort on the pitch and the effort from the fans. "We're still in the draw, we don't feel it was a missed opportunity, the opportunity will now come in the space of 10 days' time."

Bristol Rovers player ratings vs Norwich City: By Daniel Hargraves.Matt Cox - 7 In all honesty, the goalkeeper didn't have much to do against the Championship side. Looked calm and composed when coming for crosses but one or two noteworthy saves to make. Josh Grant - 8 The defender is best when he's no nonsense and had plenty of instances where it was just a case of clear the danger and go again. Beaten for pace on a few occasions but, against players of Norwich's elk, you really can't fault him. A performance he should be pleased with. Connor Taylor - 8 His usual colossal self. Certainly didn't look out of place against Championship opposition. Tristan Crama - 7 It looked as though it might be a tricky afternoon for the Frenchman after his early slip gifted Norwich the opener but, fair play to him, he was excellent for the remainder of proceedings. Luke Thomas - 7 His usual tenacious self in that wing-back role with one vital sliding tackle with the last kick of the first half to win his side a goal kick. Will definitely be kicking himself for not scoring though after rattling the post, so unlucky not to see the net bulge. Grant Ward (Below - off for Luke McCormick 54') - 9 Scored a cracking finish from just inside the area to equalise for Bristol Rovers and was then everywhere he needed to be for his side, dictating play. A real shame to see him go off, possibly a concern there. i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9018464.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_GettyImages-1912248010.jpgSam Finley - 8 Dictated play for his team against Championship opposition which is probably the biggest compliment I can give. Against a side full of players that didn't look like the wanted the ball, the Gas captain was the polar opposite. Harvey Vale - 7 Defensively solid and managed to get himself in behind on the left on a few occasions. Will probably feel he should've scored today forcing a good save from George Long in the first half and then having a shot blocked in the second. Antony Evans - 7 His usual classy self in the middle. Probably didn't make as much of an impact in the game as he would've liked but certainly showed his quality against higher level opposition. Jevani Brown (for Aaron Collins 81') - 7 Really unlucky not to score in the first half and really should've had an assist in the second. Having not seen a replay yet, it was hard to tell whether he scuffed the past to Chris Martin or the striker didn't anticipate it. Chris Martin - 6 As mentioned above for Brown, it's hard to tell without a replay where the error of judgement was at for that opening in the early stages of the second half but the ball looked set to nestle in the back of the net. Some good defensive work but not much fell to him in way of opportunities. Substitutes:Luke McCormick (on for Ward 54') - 6 Made himself useful when coming on. Just nice to see the midfielder back on the pitch. Aaron Collins (on for Brown 81') - N/A Came on and had to help contribute to the defensive cause which he did but didn't have much of a chance to get on the ball and cause issues until the dying moments.

'So pleased' - Matt Taylor offers verdict on Bristol Rovers draw at Norwich as Gas earn replay..By Daniel Hargraves.
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9018606.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_GettyImages-1912394223.jpg Matt Taylor thanks the travelling Gasheads after Bristol Rovers' draw at Norwich City
Matt Taylor has insisted that he is "so pleased" with what Bristol Rovers stood for as a football club after earning an FA Cup third round replay at Championship side Norwich City on Saturday afternoon. The Gas were cheered on by 1,333 travelling Gasheads and started the better of the two sides at Carrow Road but found themselves behind after an unfortunate trip in the area from Tristan Crama allowed Onel Hernandez the opportunity to tee up Ashley Barnes for a tap-in. Impressively though, Rovers found the equaliser just five minutes later as Grant Ward fired a cracker into the top corner from just inside the 18-yard-box. With both sides having flurries forward in the opening 25 minutes, the match was set up to be a proper cup tie but, despite early opportunities in the second half for both teams, neither outfit were able to find a winner and will face each other again at the Mem later this month. Speaking post-match, Taylor was evidently delighted with his team's effort, declaring: "We can't be greedy in football despite wanting to be, despite some of the chances that we created. First half, especially that one where we hit the post. That looked like a must-score moment. "Only really the cut-back in the second half and the set piece towards the end but so pleased with the performance. So pleased with what the team and the club stood for in terms of effort on the pitch and from the fans. "I thought we started the game well. We had the best chances of the first half and at the start of the second half. We had to soak up a little bit of pressure but our 'keeper doesn't feel like he's been overworked. We defended our box pretty well and set-pieces included. "A step in the right direction. We're still in the draw. We don't feel it's a missed opportunity. The opportunity will come in the space of ten days time." There will be a nervous wait though to see how goal scorer Ward is after coming off early in the second half. For now, there is no diagnosis but fingers crossed it isn't a major setback after the midfielder once again demonstrated how crucial he is for this side. "We'll have to wait and see," Taylor revealed. "He's so important for us. He gives us such a different dynamic to the midfield. Sam and Antony are such good ball players and so responsible but Grant Ward has that extra yard. He bursts to the ball and away from people. He moves like a player of Championship level so we'll see how the hamstring is. "People questioned why he didn't start on New Year's Day. That's why. His body is probably not quite there to play week-in week-out just yet and the workload that he got through through the Christmas period was exceptional. He's always in that risk category because he's missed too much of the season. "I can't complain about the performance. We've limited them to half-chances. Our 'keeper hasn't had too many saves to make. We defended our box really well. You always want more from an attacking sense but we have to respect where the game was today."

Matt Taylor (Gaffer) is, and will be, a credit to the club. His interviewing technique is great - he listens to the questions and provides a detailed, well considered response without too many unnecessary adjectives, cliches or chest beating. He comes across as having far greater football intelligence than B***** despite not having premiership experience.
His next test is the transfer market - looking forward to seeing what players come in, go out or come out from the cold.

Ward’s goal is a thing of real beauty. We missed him when he went off yesterday. Not because Macca played badly - he didn’t - but because Ward was playing so well up till then. Also played really well at Bolton.
Not been his greatest fan (nor really a critic) in the past but really like what I am seeing right now. Hope he came off as a precaution rather than there being an issue. Our midfield 3 with two WBs is working really well imho right now - all 5 playing well and together

Just got back..
Hey these are what away days are made of! What a brilliant tour! Great company, we took many hardcore fans, great weather wise, welcoming pub that done it all with pre match food and sports and big enough to host sizable following, decent concourse and out sung the home fans and enjoyed some banter.
A nice little shout out to some of our older brethren. Great to see so many 50+ travelling.
Met lovely fella travelled in from Cambridge. Good on you mucker..... supporting from the home end so that's at least+1 added to away following.
Onto less important things:
If this was Chris Martin day, it's a shame he wasn't on score sheet. He could so easily have been, if set up correctly (grrrrrr ...) He ran himself into the ground,
Unless we're seeing a classically trained magician, I struggle to see what Jervani Brown brings to the team.(?) Yet I will be happy if someone could show me...? Maybe he's saving his box of tricks until the end? Which will be a shame, as I fear he's losing the audience now, and many can see it.....or at least think they can. Perhaps to give (the possibly outward bound) Aaza a rest? But his appearance of lacklustre nonchalance in approach, where AC covers every blade if he isn't scoring or assisting, leaves a lot to be desired by us GasHeads who value industriness and endeavour. He at least found the goalkeeper on his one and only chance, where either side would have been a bit more preferable... He was rightly subbed for the fore mentioned, a little too late for my liking.
That aside, I thought every other player played extremely well for their abilities.
Including, Grant. Nice knock, but you can see it's a square peg jobby, and any decent team will exploit our makeshift flanks.
Crama made the mistake for the goal. There's always the same pattern, one individual error gets automatically ruthlessly punished....it appears it doesn't work the other way round!? ...but after his mistake, too soft and poncy, he actually applied himself quite well. The whole defence unit looked more compact, which is a huge bonus after Wyscum, and even Luke Thomas and Anthony Evans at times in second half were helping out.
This led Cox to have a relatively easier game than expected. His distribution again at times left a lot to be desired, and he has this habit of leaving it to last second to clear the ball with on rushing players - he'll get caught one day on both - but he's still learning, and I don't see him as the answer. He doesn't command his area, it looks like he hardly communicates, but he's a decent shot stopper and can bring out some good 1 on 1 saves.
The jewel in the crown yesterday was again, captain Finley. After Ward went off, for me a m o m in waiting, Finley stepped up and delivered a midfield maestro performance, and that was our biggest winning battle of the day. We appeared to be dominant in mid. If you watch replay of first goal, the work Finley does to set up Vale is brilliant - yet he won't hit any stats for that - but his performance yesterday was immense. I wonder if the new manager influence has allowed him to express his football more? He appears more vibrant in the last 6 weeks....more energetic and enthusiasm? His form is flourishing and it's a delight to see. What a brilliant midfielder he is!
A note of word on Norwich, if I could have a second team, I guess they would be it for a while now I've followed their fortunes. They certainly didn't really get out of 2nd gear until subs came on and made a difference. Their no27 as some of their fans previously said will go to Prem, he's a right wing wizard. Reminds me of Steve MacManaman in fa cup terms... he's only a kid too, and English prodigy. So I hope they kick on and do well this season. Their club was very welcoming, even pre match stewards were polite! (I did see some angst at half time) but police were kept to a minimum and again, their fans were lovely. A real credit. On the ball c*ty, I love to hear them sing that (apparently the oldest football song ever) and from where we were they tried to support their team only reserving the disgruntlement for the end in judgement, thus supporting and allowing them to perform - but the boos at the end we will take as a badge of honour. So say American investment will propel them up the league....if we can compete in near future on and off pitch with infrastructure, I'll be more than happy.
In conclusion, we played well. Very well. With the chances we had, I feel disappointed to leave Carrow Road with a draw - something most of us would eagerly have taken before a ball was kicked. Have a look at the players on final whistle, some look quite distraught!
We'll welcome them back to the Mem and go again, that's definitely a match to be looking forward to.. We might not have the glamour of other certain replays, but MT is galvanising the quad and appearing to get the best out of his inherited players.
The rest we'll see. Well done everyone for yesterday..

Not confirmed yet but I have seen it cropping up in a couple of places online - www.skysports.com/fa-cup-fixturesHopefully we’ll know for sure in the coming days. Exciting!

After playing on a sat.
That's ridiculous. They will still be feeling the lactose acid.
Prefer not to be on TV and an extra 24 hrs rest.
