I think the thing with supporting a sports team, to the point of near religious levels for some, is that somewhere buried in your brain you know it's not that important. Dejection in football, it's almost like a practice run for far worse things once you have calmed yourself 24 hours later. Maybe we need to find things to get elated or dejected about.

Burton 4 BRFC 1 - Possession: 34% - 66% - Shots: 10-13 - On Target: 4-4 - Referee: Christopher Pollard - Attendance: 3,591Burton made it four straight League One wins with a comprehensive 4-1 win over 10-man Bristol Rovers. Bez Lubala grabbed a first-half brace after Antony Evans had headed Rovers in front but, after Ryan Woods was dismissed midway through the second half, Albion rammed home their advantage with goals from Joe Powell and Kwadwo Baah. Rovers went in front just moments after Albion's Powell had hit the woodwork direct from a corner. The Gas went up the other end and good link-up play between Chris Martin and Aaron Collins saw Evans stoop to head in unmarked at the back post. It took Albion a while to properly settle into the game but Lubala put them in control by the break. The Congolese striker got the touch ahead of defender Connor Taylor to convert Tom Hamer's low cross midway through the half before turning sharply into the box to capitalise on Mark Helm's cross and finish beyond Matthew Cox from close range. Rovers began to press in the second half looking for an equaliser but they were reduced to 10 men on 64 minutes with Woods dismissed for his aerial challenge on Helm. Powell lashed home a 25-yard screamer to make a 3-1 on 81 minutes before Baah completed the rout with an angled drive three minutes later. i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article8833492.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200/0_GettyImages-1625416025.jpgA general view of the Pirelli Stadium, home of Burton Albion

Not sure about 24 hours I am still trying to get over Dover away.

He won’t sack himself unfortunately The new owners might do it though. When he does go I wonder who will replace him, there doesnt seem to be an obvious candidate.

If the new owners have £1.7 million to spare they can clear the decks of B***** and his cast of Bread easily! All they need to do is to repay the club senior coaching employee the £750,000 loan that appeared in the last submitted accounts along with the remaining £250,000 pa B***** remaining contract not forgetting of course all of the professional scouser's he's employed which I belive now number nine without Col Mustard taken into account. You have to hand it to B*****, he can sniff a sucker a million miles away and boy, has he exploited that opportunity !

Were we to luck out then I don’t think the Cowley brothers have a new club yet. We might also be able to prise Steve Evans out of Stevenage

Just got back from Ifollow..
Dear oh dear, some of us woke up with the sinking feeling only to find out how sunk we really are in some departments..
Anyhoos, onto less important things...
If you go down under the Woods yesterday, you're sure of no surprise!
Who said that the scoring the first goal was so important!? Um....
For me, another needless sending off in an area where it meant nothing...at a time where injuries and suspensions are badly affecting team selection. The ref was buying all the "go downs" from both sides, so for the second away match in a row we make things hard on ourselves by setting almost impossible goals.
After poor defensive, thank you very much 1-0 well taken goal, we red riding hoodly invited them on to us....and they duly took up that invitation with a wolfy ruthlessness.
It's got to be said....even though I like Vale, a left back he certainly is not. Turned with no challenge on the first goal, ball across the box and as usual with 5 of our own players in the 6 yard box when it went it, no one could challenge for it! There was Woods, Vale and Evans in the box too when the ball was over the line...
The second goal ball gets played out to matey on the wing...tum te tum te tummmm... control's the ball, takes a step, looks up tum te tum te tummm (all the while, absolutely no challenge from Gibbons whatsoever .... Why didn't he challenge for the ball before matey got it under control? He was there!) and Josh Grant can't block the shot that the ball eventually found it's way to. It's got to be said....a right back Gibbons certainly is not. Not that I've seen in last year..
Third goal wonder strike....fair play to the fella.
Fourth goal we invited room for matey to run on (Finley didn't get there) pass to fella who was going on to shoot with Vale watching again...hey the lad was great at voyeurism from what I could see (!).
Ok, they done a number on us on the flanks, where we are weak and makeshift. Their number 15 ran on to us with his high energy high pressing physical presence and it worked a treat. We fell back, invited the crossing, rarely blocked shots and played had a granny at the back so were rightfully gobbled up.
We don't even have a (Jack) Huntsman to save us at the moment...
We were well beaten in the end by a well organised, run of the mill third division team that played to their strengths and exploited our weaknesses. They were the better team on the day and that's without Cole Stockton and Muzzy!
I heard some of JAB comments afterwards. I disagree with some of them, but obviously I wasn't there. First of all, we held the advantage of a two week break, allowing us to get players fit and we could recoup energy and all the time in the world to prep and travel. What were we working on in that time?
I get that football doesn't go your way and fine line deflections etc go against you and for you etc, but the interesting thing about that is: he appears to deflect what he could do better in the process.
I think valid questions need to be raised. Bogarde dropped for Ward coming back from injury....to me on TV it looked like Ward was slow, ineffective. Wouldn't it have been more logical to start the fit player with recent game time?
If LT gets thrown under the bus letting team down (not for the first time) and Belshaw much similar, why is it not the same for Brown and Woods for their unnecessary sending offs? Why is it one rule for one, but not another...? It appears inconsistent.
Yea yea deflections and bad day at office and dust yourselves down bla bla bla, those travelling fans that made up almost a third of the crowd deserved better and we are under performing. That's the bottom line.
With some appealing managers becoming available, how long will this be allowed to continue before penny starts to drop that if JAB is strategically sussed by his opponent, he can't come back with anything else to affect change in the match were losing?

This is cr*p. We aren't losing to teams at the moment, we are beating ourselves. All that stuff about the greatest squad in BRFC'S history was insubstantial guff, wasn't it? Not to worry - we have a sicknote defender from Blackburn Rovers to look forward to. Let’s face it, the decision to employ the managers was with Wael. He then allowed him to bring in his many buddies and, I believe, gave fairly long contracts too. IF he was to go then it would be highly unlikely to be the club but B***** who made the decision. some highly questionable players brought in , with history of injuries plus some who are past their best and players being played out of their previous position. He’s had the backing he wanted but has put together is lauded as the best in our history. Yes, we have injuries but, again, high possession but no end product. Can anyone seriously see this side being promoted , really ?

I wonder if thats it for B***** ? If the new owners seriously want a shot at promotion then the sooner the better. Who would you like to see here in his place , not that I think he is going anywhere ?
